The Bible

The Bible, the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the Holy Spirit inspired Words of God. The Bible, in the original writings, is inerrant. It is the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of men, contains every answer to man's problems, and is the divine and final authority for daily Christian living.

God

There is but one God, the Creator, Preserver and Ruler of all things, having in and of Himself, all perfections, and being infinite in them all; and to Him all creatures owe the highest love, reverence and obedience.

Jesus

Jesus the Christ, who was made flesh and dwelt among us, was both God and man. He is the Son of God, begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. Through His sinless life, death on the cross, burial, and bodily resurrection He served as the final substitutionary sacrifice to redeem mankind from eternal separation from God. He is now our High Priest and Advocate, and will one day visibly return for His church, consisting of all who have believed on Him as the only means of salvation.

The Holy Spirit

The ministry of the Holy Spirit, during this age, is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living.

Man

God originally created man in His own image and free from sin. But, through yielding to the temptation of Satan, man transgressed the command of God, fell from his original holiness and righteousness into sin, and therefore became spiritually condemned, lost, dead, and separated from God. Except a man be spiritually born again by belief in Jesus, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

Salvation

Salvation is God’s means of man having a personal relationship with God. Salvation is God's free gift to man. It cannot be gained nor is it the result of what “we do,” through meritorious acts or works, but it is only available through God's unearned favor, which is what “God has done.” By confessing (agreeing with God) we have sinned and believing in the death, burial, and resurrection (the finished work of Christ), and accepting Him as Lord, we can spend eternity with God. Through Jesus’ death we are saved from the penalty and condemnation of sin. Through Jesus burial, our old sinful, spiritually dead nature is buried with Him in sin. Through Jesus’ resurrection, we are spiritually born again of the Spirit and therefore have a new Life in Christ.  The holiness and righteousness lost by the first man, Adam, which separated us from God, is reconciled and restored by grace through faith in the second man, Jesus.

Faith

Saving faith is believing, accepting, and resting upon Jesus Christ, alone, and His death, burial, and resurrection for justification and eternal life.  Faith is one of the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit, and is what enables the beliver to come to a saving faith in Christ. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

Baptism

Baptism is an ordinance of the Lord Jesus, given to the disciples and, therefore, to the ministry, to baptize all believers in the name of Jesus Christ (the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit). We believe baptism by immersion is the most complete symbolic representation of death to sin by burial in Christ, and resurrection to walk in newness of life through Christ. It is a prerequisite to participation in the Lord's Supper.
